Dear Sweet Boy

Dear sweet boy, today we had to say goodbye to you. It is the hardest thing we have ever had to do. The love we have for you has grown so much since we first saw your face almost eight months ago.

Be strong sweet boy. You are going to be reunited with your birth mother. We are so grateful you will have a family even if it isn't the one we longed to provide for you. We are planting a weeping cherry tree for you. It will bloom every year at this time. We will never forget the day we had to say goodbye to you. You will always be in our hearts and our prayers. We love you dear sweet boy...

i am so, so sorry. I know you are experiencing a great loss right now and I hope you will take the time to grieve. Somehow, as APs we seem to feel we can't cry for our losses.

I hope you are able to find peace in all of this.

I am so, so very sorry. I follow many Vietnam adoption blogs and have been following your story as you waited. I am glad that the little guy will be reunited with his bio family, but I can't imagine what this is doing to you. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

I am so very sorry for your loss. There are no 'right' words to ease your sorrow. I wish that I could say something - Anything - that would make sense of all this.

I am so, so sorry.

My heart just breaks for you. I know how long this process has been for you . . . from waiting for a referral to waiting for travel. You have weatherd so much, and to have it all come to this . . . You continue to be in my prayers. Allow yourself to grieve.

We waited for many months for I-600approval and I have followed your journey knowing your pain. I also know how much you loved your little boy while he was your son in your heart and in your life. May your faith in all that will follow carry you now. Time is taking you to the soul who was meant to be your child. Somehow this experience will help you find that soul as your path has been changed. Sending you prayers and strength and HOPE!

I am gutted thinking about how overwhelming losing this child was for you. I hope he will flourish with his birth family and I hope you are presented with another chance to parent a child the way you wanted to parent him. . . .bless you and your family.
